Shot blasting machine is a casting equipment that uses high-speed projectiles thrown by the shot blaster to clean or strengthen the surface of castings. The shot blasting machine can simultaneously remove sand, core and clean castings.
The principle of shot blasting is to use an electric motor to drive the impeller body to rotate (directly or with a V-belt drive), and rely on the centrifugal force to throw projectiles with a diameter of about 0.2 to 3.0 (there are different types such as cast steel shot, wire cut shot, stainless steel shot, etc.) to the surface of the workpiece, so that the surface of the workpiece reaches a certain roughness, making the workpiece beautiful, or changing the welding tensile stress of the workpiece to compressive stress, thereby increasing the service life of the workpiece. By increasing the roughness of the workpiece surface, the adhesion of the paint film of the subsequent spraying of the workpiece is also improved.
